korematsu-assemblyFred Korematsu Day was celebrated on Jan. 29 at the State Capitol in both the State Assembly and Senate chambers. Annual observances are held on or around Jan. 30, the birthday of the late civil rights icon, who would have turned 96 this year. Korematsu was represented by his daughter, founder and executive director of the Korematsu Institute in San Francisco.
