The San Fernando Valley Japanese American Community Center held its 2015 New Year’s Luncheon on Jan. 3 in the SFVJACC’s Dr. Sanbo Sakaguchi Memorial Hall with close to 200 people, including guests and members, in attendance.

Tamlyn Tomita, actress and former Nisei Week Queen, was the mistress of ceremonies.

Paul Jonokuchi was re-elected to serve as president for 2015. Jonokuchi, Senior Advisor Kenji Watanabe Sr. and Consul Izuru Shimmura from the Consulate General of Japan in Los Angeles performed the traditional kagami-wari.

Suzume no Gakkou students sang a few songs and Matsutoyo Kai provided minyo as part of the entertainment.
