Funeral service for Haru Okuno, 101-year-old, Mie-ken-born resident of Los Angeles who passed away peacefully on Feb. 27, 2015 at Keiro Nursing Home, was held on Fri, March 6, at Fukui Mortuary “Chapel in the Garden” with Rev. Shuichi Kurai of Sozenji Buddhist Temple officiating.
She is survived by her son, Makoto (Carolyn) Okuno; daughter, Yoneko Takeda; brother, Sohei Hamano; sister, Toshi Iba; grandchildren, Craig Okuno, Linda (Jeff) Niizawa, Robert (Betty) Okuno, Kevin (Mary) Takeda and Jeff (Melissa) Takeda; nine great-grandchildren; many nieces, nephews and other relatives here and in Japan.
