Private family funeral service for Ayame Takeshima, 101-year-old Hawaii-born resident of Los Angeles, who passed away on April 3, 2015, was held on Saturday, April 18, at Fukui Mortuary “Chapel in the Garden,” with a minister from Hompa Hongwanji Buddhist Temple officiating.
She is survived by her nieces, Ikuko Shimizu, Yoshimi Takeshima and Akemi (Masaru) Sumi, latter two in Japan; nephews, Bunsho (Rinko), Yuji (Yukiko), and Seiji (Hiroko) Takeshima, latter two in Japan; grandnephews, Shoji (Sheri) Takeshima and Steven (Aimee) Shimizu; grandnieces, Mae (Neil) Minamoto and Diane Shimizu; and other relatives here and in Japan.
