The Nisei Veterans Coordinating Council and Evergreen Cemetery invite you to help pay tribute to those who paid the ultimate sacrifice, allowing us to enjoy the freedom we have today.

The 66th annual Memorial Day service will be held on Monday, May 25, at 11 a.m. at Evergreen Memorial Park, 204 N. Evergreen Ave., Los Angeles.

This year’s memorial address will be given by Rev. Clifford Ishigaki, whose family members served with the 442nd Regimental Combat Team during World War II. Their service and sacrifice inspired him to serve with the Marines during the Vietnam War.

Recalling all the young Marines lost in combat, Ishigaki returned home suffering from post-traumatic stress. Part of his recovery landed him in the ministry as he has come to understand what it is like to be a warrior-priest.
