FRESNO — Fresno Betsuin Buddhist Temple’s 70th annual Obon, “Festival of Lanterns,” will be held Saturday, July 11, at Fresno Buddhist Dharma Center, 2690 E. Alluvial in Fresno.

fresno obon graphicDoors open at 2 p.m. Asian-flair foods, desserts and beverages will be sold.

Activities from 4 p.m. include taiko drumming, carnival games and bake-walks.

At 7:30 p.m., personalized lanterns honoring loved ones will be put up and Bon odori will begin. There will be more taiko drumming and a raffle for a $2,000 prize.

Obon dancing is easy and fun for all ages. No experience or practice required.
