GARDENA — The Greater L.A. JACL Chapter hosts “Japanese American Teen Life After Internment: Gang and Club Culture” on Sunday, Sept. 13, at 2 p.m. at Merit Park Recreation Hall, 58 Merit Park Dr., Gardena.

Based on a Katarou Histories Project, Shawn Iwaoka will be showing a video and discussing the youth culture of Japanese American teens following their internment during World War II. Focusing on a War Relocation Authority trailer park housing 5,000 men, women and children, he will speak of the attitudes and activities of Japanese American youth who were interned.
