Yae Shimotsu, age 79, born in Ishigaki-jima, Japan, passed away peacefully on Thursday, Aug. 13, 2015 in Sacramento, Calif. She lived a majority of her life in Torrance, before moving to Honolulu, Hawaii and due to her health lived in Sacramento, for the past 2-1/2 years.
Private funeral services were held on Saturday, Aug. 29, 2015 at East Lawn Mortuary Elk Grove. She is predeceased by her husband George “Keoki” Shimotsu and survived by her daughter Mieko (Beto) Martin and grandchildren Tiana Mayumi and Matthew Kenji, son Gary Shimotsu, daughter Akemi (Willie) Caluag and granddaughter Ashley Mariko. She is also survived by other nieces, nephews, and other relatives living in California and in Japan.
Her inurnment is at the National Memorial Cemetery of the Pacific (Punchbowl) in Honolulu, Hawaii next to her husband.
