Giro Saisho was laid to rest at Rose Hills Memorial Park in Whittier on Saturday, Oct. 31. Born to Atsuyoshi and Kiyo Saisho in Brentwood, he is survived by his wife, Janet, brothers, Taro and Kiyoto, along with sisters, Mariko, Mataye and Emiko.
After serving in the U.S. Army’s Military Intelligence Service in Japan, Giro worked for Rocketdyne in Tarzana until retiring in 1992 and settled in Camarillo.
An avid horseplayer, Giro and Janet enjoyed their many racing-related trips to Louisville/Lexington, Miami, Las Vegas, Toronto, Chicago, Seattle, Little Rock, El Paso and Dallas.
Always traveling with family, or close friends, Giro also enjoyed golf, fishing, gardening, spending time with family and was a promising cook. He passed peacefully at home in Camarillo on Oct. 18.
