
TORRANCE — The annual Cherry Blossom Cultural Festival will be held on Sunday, April 3, from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. at Columbia Park, 4045 190th St. (at Prairie) in Torrance.
This is a free festival where you are invited to bring a blanket and sit amongst the blossoming cherry trees. Food will be available for purchase. The entertainment schedule is as follows:
11 a.m. — Matsutoyo Kai (traditional Japanese folk music)
11:30 a.m. — Koto-Zanmai (koto ensemble)
12 p.m. — Welcoming remarks
12:15 p.m. — Myo’on Taiko (drumming)
1 p.m. — Wahine Illikea Dancers (Polynesian dance)
1:30 p.m. — Aloke Dasgupta and Raga Ranjani sitar students
2:05 p.m. — Torrance Naginata Dojo demonstration
2:25 p.m. — Mai no Kai (traditional Japanese dance)
2:45 p.m. — Sunny and Judy Seki (storytellers)
3 p.m. — Sampaguita Youth Dance Troupe (Pilipino dance)
3:30 p.m. — Mystic Wave (SGI jazz band)
