Kiseko “Kiki” Yawata, an 80-year-old, Long Beach, Calif.-born Nisei resident of Huntington Beach and former internee of Rowher and Jerome Relocation Camps during WWII, passed away peacefully on April 18, 2016.
Kiki was predeceased by her youngest brother, Koki (Mabel) Yawata. She is survived by her brothers, Katsumasa (Mary Lou) and Haruyasu (Shoko) Yawata. Also survived by many nieces, nephews and other family members.
Family funeral services were held privately on Saturday, May 21, 2016 at Gardena Buddhist Church, officiated by Rev. John Iwohara, under the direction of Fukui Mortuary.
