Machiko “Marge” Sakai, age 94, passed away peacefully on May 6, 2016. Born on March 16, 1922, in San Francisco to Iwamatsu and Maki Hoshiyama, Marge grew up on a flower farm in the San Fernando Valley. After internment at Manzanar during WWII, she moved to Minneapolis, where she met her beloved husband of 64 years, (the late) Isamu Sakai. In Chicago, they owned the Hot-N-Tot Barbecue Restaurant and the Mark Twain Jewelry Store.

Marge was the loving mother of Harry (Sharon Kilkenny), Peggy (the late Mike) Waters, and Janet (Rich) Pultorak. She was the proud grandmother of Susan (Mike) Stonequist and Cyndi (Matt) Ozimek and the cherished great-grandmother of Brendan, Jonathan, Connor, Nicholas and Abigail. She was the sister of Hana (the late Fred) Fukumoto, (the late) George, (the late) Dave, and Sachi (Paul) Suzuki.
