SAN JOSE — The Japanese American Museum of San Jose, 535 N. Fifth St. in San Jose Japantown, will screen “Tohoku Tomo” on Sunday, July 31, from 1 to 3 p.m.
A story of true friendship and commitment to northeastern Japan’s recovery by the international community following the Great East Japan Earthquake, “Tohoku Tomo” is the story of everyday people who decided to do something in response to disaster. From volunteering with relief efforts to starting non-profit organizations, they were moved by a passion to help others and make a difference. While clean-up and recovery efforts are complete, there is a long road ahead for Tohoku to rebuild.
The screening, brought to you by the Japanese National Honor Society of Los Gatos High School, will be followed by Q&A with producer Wesley Julian.
