PALO ALTO — Rev. Dean Koyama and members of Palo Alto Buddhist Temple, 2751 Louis Rd. in Palo Alto, would like to cordially invite you to attend the 2016 Obon and Bazaar on Saturday and Sunday, Aug. 6-7.
The traditional Obon Odori dance will highlight Sunday evening’s festivities. The dance, an expression of gratitude towards one’s family and ancestors, starts at 7:30 p.m. and all are invited to join in the celebration.
The festival will also feature food, games, a silent auction, bonsai, entertainment, and Dharma Talks. Festival hours are 12 to 9:30 p.m. Saturday, 12 to 9:30 p.m. Sunday.

5 p.m.: Taiko herald by PABT Adult Taiko and PABT Dharma School Taiko, outdoors
5:45 p.m.: Dharma Talk: “Me?” and discussion with Rev. Gerald Sakamoto, Hondo
7 p.m.: Nihon buyo (Japanese classical dancing), Hall
7:30 p.m.: Koto performance, Hondo
8 p.m.: Music interlude, Outdoor Stage
8:30 p.m.: Judo demonstration, Hall
Sunday, Aug. 7
12 p.m.: Taiko herald by PABT Adult Taiko and PABT Dharma School Taiko, outdoors
12:45 p.m.: Dharma Talk: “Me?” with Rev. Gerald Sakamoto, Hondo
1:30 p.m.: Kamishibai (Japanese storytelling using mini-stage and storyboards), Room 5

2:30 p.m.: Storigami (paper folding and storytelling), Room 5
