Mitsuko Kinoshita, 98 of Bakersfield, Calif. passed away in her sleep on August 8, 2016. Born on the family farm in Alhambra, Calif., she was the third child of Sakuta and Matame Shimizu. Mitsie was a loving sister, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and friend, who never refused a request from anyone.
Predeceased by her beloved husband, Sid; brothers Mas (Mary), Manabu (Fudge) and Roy Shimizu; sisters Tats (Toru) Shiraki and Grace (Tsug) Okumura; in-laws Kaneto, Jim and Phyllis Kinoshita, Guy (Yosh) Muratani and Flo Shimizu; and son-in-law Carl Nietzel.
Survived by her brother Robert Shimizu; children Barbara (Bob) Okada, Stan (Irene) Kinoshita, Frances (Dennis) Scott, Kathryn and Larry Kinoshita; grandchildren Cindy (Jaime) Masuda, Gregory (Kristeen), Jeff and Matt (Tanna) Scott, Jared and Kaley Kinoshita; great-granddaughter Bari Scott; and in-laws Miyo Shimizu, Michie and Yeako Kinoshita.
A celebration of life will be held on Saturday, Oct. 1, 2016 at Westminster Presbyterian Church, located at 2080 Stine Road, Bakersfield, Calif.
