Kamiya will be discussing two topics. The first will be directed to those who are navigating through the initial enrollment process, for which he will address questions such as: “If I’m eligible for Medicare soon, what do I have to do?” “What are my options with Medicare if I’m still working?” “What insurance do I need other than Medicare?” “What are the exclusions/limitations to Medicare?”

The second topic will be directed to those who are already on Medicare and will address what can be done during the upcoming open enrollment period of Oct. 15 to Dec. 7. He will answer questions such as: “What are Medicare’s exclusions and limitations and how do I get help paying for them?” “How can my children help me communicate with Medicare?”

This is an educational seminar only. It is open to the public, admission is free and no reservations are required. Refreshments will be provided. Translation will be provided for the Japanese-speaking. Kamiya will be available for a limited time to answer some individual questions at the end of the program.

This event is sponsored by the Gardena Pioneer Project, the Japanese American Bar Association and the Senior Citizens’ Bureau of the City of Gardena. For further information, contact Karen C. Uyekawa at (310) 977-1149.
