Sidney Yuji Yamazaki, 85, resident of West Los Angeles, passed away after a long illness on Nov. 4, 2016. He was born in Los Angeles. During WWII, he and his family were interned in Gila River, Ariz. He then lived in New York City, served in the Korean War and returned to attend UCLA. He was an educator for 44 years.
Memorial service will be held at 2:30 p.m. on Sunday, Nov. 27, 2016 at the West Los Angeles United Methodist Church, 1913 Purdue Ave., Los Angeles, CA 90025.
He is survived by his beloved wife, Kathleen; daughters, Jeanine Yamazaki and Lisa (Jared) Aoki; son, David (Christine) Yamazaki; grandchildren, Kyle, Jennifer and Jessica.
