Dale Kobashigawa passed away in the quiet hours of the morning on Aug. 21, 2017, at PIH in Whittier, Calif., with his wife, cousin Stephanie, best friend Brian and brother beside him. He was 55.

Dale was born in Los Angeles in September of 1961 to his mother, Mitsuko and his father, Charles. He had one older brother, Mark. He was raised in Montebello, where he attended and graduated from Schurr High School in 1979. He then enrolled at East Los Angeles College for a short period, before being hired by the Xerox Corporation as the youngest technician, at the time. He would go on to work diligently for them for 37 years, becoming a valued Specialized Senior Service Engineer.

He reunited with the love of his life, Lesli. They were the essence of kindred spirits and would spend the last of his 14 years together, completely devoted to each other. Although they had always planned to marry, they faced many bumps in the road due to his health over the last 4 years. Ironically, after waiting so many years (but telling people they’d been married) Dale realized he had never popped the question and finally asked … twice, to make sure. They were married a week later.

He leaves behind his wife and soul-mate, Lesli, his loving mother, Mitsuko, preceded in death by his father, Charles, brother, Mark (Diane), cousin Stephanie Ige, whom he considered his sister, niece Kim and nephew Sean Kobashigawa, and many more relatives in California and Hawaii.

Family and friends gathered for a private memorial service for Dale on Saturday, Oct. 14, 2017, at Fukui Mortuary in Los Angeles. Rimban William Briones of Los Angeles Hompa Hongwanji Buddhist Temple officiated.

He will be forever missed by all who met him, knew him and loved him.
