Edna Tamiko Hashimoto, 90, passed away on September 7, 2017. She was born in April 1927 to Shintaro and Kaoru Ito in Stockton, California and grew up in Stockton until WWII when her family was sent to the Relocation Camp in Rowher, Arkansas. After WWII, she was the first Japanese American to work for the Sharpe Army Depot near Stockton. In 1954 Edna married Hiroyuki Hashimoto and moved to Los Angeles where she raised 3 children. Later in life she worked for Hughes Aircraft Company as an Administrative Assistant. After they retired, Edna and Hiroyuki traveled all over the world and made several photo albums of their trips.

In more recent years she enjoyed spending time with her youngest grandchildren, Keith and Chelsea. Edna is preceded in death by her husband Hiroyuki Hashimoto. She is survived by her daughters: Sherie Ann Hashimoto (John Minker) and Doreen Hashimoto; her son Wayne (Nancy) Hashimoto; grandchildren: Christopher Rotchford, Keith and Chelsea Hashimoto, and many nieces and nephews along with grandnieces and grandnephews.

Funeral services will be at 4:00 PM on Saturday, October 14th at Higashi Honganji Buddhist Temple, 505 East Third Street, Los Angeles.
