Tom Daikoku passed away on Oct. 8, 2017. He was a retired gardener who resided in San Mateo and a longtime San Francisco Giants fan. He was born in Broderick, Calif. to the late Yasujiro Daikoku and Tomo Kamatani. When he was 15 his family was interned in Tule Lake, Calif., and he was later sent to Bismarck, N.D.
Survived by children: Gale Daikoku-Bommelaere & Norma Daikoku; grandchildren: Connor Caldwell, Kyra Bommelaere & Maya Bommelaere; and siblings: Umeyo Helen Tanaka of Sanger, Calif., Saburo Daikoku of Sepulveda CA, Yoshito Daikoku of Fullerton, Calif. & Akira Daikoku of Fullerton, Calif. Preceded in death by wife June Natsuye Daikoku and siblings Yayeko Fay Tokunaga, Shigeto Daikoku & Midori Ishida.
Memorial service will be held on Saturday, Oct. 21, 2017 at 11:00 a.m. at Sneider & Sullivan & O’Connell’s Funeral Home, 977 S. El Camino Real, San Mateo, Calif. Inurnment will be at Skylawn Memorial Park.
