Bruce Koji Mochizuki, age 86, Los Angeles-born Nisei, Air Force veteran and longtime Orange County architect, died at his home in Irvine, surrounded by his family. Survived by devoted wife, Chieko; daughters, Leslie Otsuka, wife of the late Alden Otsuka, Christine (Robert) Chang and Karen (Chester) Kano; grandchildren, Cameron Otsuka, Remington Chang, Megan Otsuka, Reilly Chang, Thomas Kano and Sarah Kano; sisters-in-law, Kathy (Tom) Mochizuki and Fumi (Tsutomu) Mochizuki; and nephews, nieces and their children.
After WWII internment at Jerome, Arkansas, and Heart Mountain, Wyoming, he attended Belmont High, L.A. City College and USC. He served the church faithfully as an elder with unwavering support for the building committee and loved to play golf with his friends.
Celebration of Life service will be held at 10:30 a.m. Saturday, Dec. 2, at Wintersburg Presbyterian Church, 2000 N. Fairview St., Santa Ana. Casual attire; lunch to follow.
