Hiroshi Uyeda, Seattle-born Kibei-Nisei, former internee of Manzanar, Tule Lake, Crystal City and Seabrook Farms during WWII, and long-time resident of East Los Angeles, passed away peacefully at home on April 14, 2018, surrounded by his family. An enthusiast of art, sumo and baseball, the family is grateful that he stayed lucid until the end; Hiroshi lived a long and full life of 98 years on this earth.
Hiroshi is survived by his beloved wife of 60 years, Mitsuko Uyeda; children, James Uyeda, married to Debby Uyeda, and Jane Uyeda, married to Patrick Foy; and grandsons, Douglas Uyeda and Tycho Uyeda-Foy. He is also survived by relatives in Japan.
