Jean Tsuchiya passed away at Villa Gardens in Pasadena on May 26, 2018. Jean was born and raised in San Francisco and spent 69 years in downtown Los Angeles, before moving to Pasadena the last two years. She was a member and active volunteer with Japan America Society and Los Angeles-Nagoya Sister City program. Jean was also a long-time volunteer with Los Angeles Nisei Week. She received many prestigious awards for her volunteer accomplishments. She was predeceased by her husband William Tsuchiya in 2002 and leaves behind her daughter Barbara Nakaoka and son-in-law Archie Nakaoka.
A celebration of Jean’s life will be held from 10:30 a.m.-1:00 p.m. on Saturday, June 2, at Vista Villa in Villa Gardens, 842 E. Villa Street, Pasadena, Calif. In lieu of koden and flowers, please make a donation to Japan America Society or Los Angeles-Nagoya Sister City.
