Nov. 3, 1918 – May 12, 2018

At the age of 99 years, Sumiko Iwamae went home to be with her Lord, her beloved husband Yoshio, her parents Niichiro and Asa Abe and her 9 brothers and sisters in heaven. A Sacramento-born and raised Nisei, Sumiko later resided in Terminal Island, was interned at Tule Lake and a resident of Long Beach for 70 years. She leaves behind her daughter Susan, son-in-law Alan Nomoto, grandchildren Rory and Erin Nomoto, many nieces, nephews, cousins and relatives in Japan.

A viewing will be held on Friday, June 1, at 10:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. at Fukui Mortuary, 707 E. Temple St., Los Angeles, CA 90012.

A Celebration of Life will be held on Saturday, June 2, 2018 at 2 p.m. at Grace First Presbyterian Church, 3955 Studebaker Road, Long Beach, CA 90808; tel: (562) 420-3393. Please no flowers.
