Miko peacefully passed away in the evening, surrounded by her family at her home in Villa Park, Calif. She was a loving wife, mother and grandmother, to her husband of 62 years, Walter S. Matsui, her son Marc Matsui (deceased) and daughters Julie Matsui and Meg Matsui, son-in-law Goetz Schleifer, and her beloved grandchildren, Miles, Sophie and Tess. She was sister to Ted Nonaka and Mas Nonaka (both deceased). Miko was born in Seattle, raised in Los Angeles and Denver and moved to California to teach, marry and raise her family.
A Celebration of Life Service will be held on Saturday, Aug. 4, 2018 at 11:00 a.m. at St. Mark Presbyterian Church (http://www.stmarkpresbyterian.org/), 2200 San Joaquin Hills Road, Newport Beach, CA 92660, (949) 655-1341.
