Miyako June (Ikegami) Yamasaki
July 8, 1939 – August 3, 2018
Miyako Yamasaki passed away peacefully the evening of August 3, 2018 surrounded by loved ones. She was predeceased by husband, Jimmy; son, Hiroshi; brother, Yukio; and sister in law, Harue. Miyako is survived by her son, Ken (Lori); grandchildren, Stefani Miya and Jayson Yoshio; son, Ron (Jackie); grandchildren Ron, Jr. and Jon; brothers, Yutaka (Lily) and Norio Ikegami; sister, Kyoko (Tom) Yoshida; companion, Gerald Tyler; dear friend, Roy Ota; and many nieces and nephews. Miyako was interned at Manazar Relocation Camp during WWII. She spent most of her life in Los Angeles and was a long time employee of the Japanese American Community Credit Union.
A memorial service will be held on August 16, 2018 at 11:00am at West Los Angeles Buddhist Temple, 2003 Corinth Ave., Los Angeles, CA 90025. (310) 477-7274.
