A funeral service for Hideo “Barney” Tanaka, 91-year-old, Stockton-born Nisei, longtime resident of Gardena and WWII Navy veteran, who passed away on Aug. 20, 2018, will be held on Saturday, Sept. 8, 2018 at 2 p.m. at the Green Hills Memorial Chapel, 27501 S Western Ave., Rancho Palos Verdes, CA 90275. A private interment will follow.
He was predeceased by his loving wife of 55 years, Fuji (“Jane”), and is survived by his brothers Yukio and Hideki; sisters Yo Hiraoka, Masako Shiota, and Nobuko Ishibashi; and numerous nieces, nephews, and other relatives.
