A private family service was held on Nov. 11, 2018 for John Katsuyuki Marumoto, 91, who passed away peacefully on Oct. 27, 2018.
Kats was born and raised in Terminal Island, interned at Manzanar and served in the Korean War. He is survived by his wife, Betsy; daughters Staci (Tim) Saito and Robin Spangler; 3 beloved grandchildren, Michael & Matthew Saito and Alana Spangler.
He is also survived by his brother Nori (Koko) Marumoto; sisters Chiyomi Ogawa and Junko Marumoto; and brother-in-law, Tok Mayeda. He was predeceased by his parents Tomitaro & Fumi Marumoto and sister Saeko Mayeda. He is also survived by many nieces, nephews, cousins as well as several other relatives.
