Kenneth Kenji Yamamoto
July 28, 1920 – November 4, 2018

It is with great sadness that the family of Kenneth Kenji Yamamoto announces his passing, on Sunday, November 4, 2018, at the age of 98. Born on July 28, 1920, Ken was a native to Los Angeles and grew up in Boyle Heights spending much of his youth at Maryknoll Catholic Church. He was interned in the Japanese Internment camp Manzanar, in Owens Valley, CA. Ken was a veteran of the United States Army and proudly served his country during WWII.

Ken was a long-time resident of West Los Angeles where he worked and retired as a Production Manager for Plastiglide. On April 20,1952, Ken married Edith Nishi. The couple enjoyed a wonderful long life in WLA raising their two sons Mark and Peter. Ken and Edith were a big part of the lives of their nieces and nephews and enjoyed going on trips to Asilomar with their family and friends. They were also dedicated to being a part of their grandchildren’s lives and took pride in watching them grow. Ken loved spending time with friends, going to community events, golfing, bowling, rock hounding, taking fishing trips, going to dance classes, and being part of the WLA community.

Ken will be lovingly remembered by his wife Edith (66 years married), sons Mark and Peter, five grandchildren, four great-grandchildren, many nieces and nephews, and sister-in-law Barbara Taniguchi.

A viewing will be held at Fukui Mortuary on Friday, November 16, 2018, from 11:00 am to 1:00 pm. Address 707 E. Temple Street, Los Angeles, CA, 90012.

A service will also be held the following Monday, November 19, 2018, at St Francis Xavier Church (Maryknoll) at 10:30 am. Address 222 South Hewitt Street, Los Angeles, CA, 90012.
