Mary Kuniyo Higashi - Rafu Shimpo

A funeral service for Mary Kuniyo Higashi, 97-year-old, Los Angeles, Calif.-born Nisei who passed away on Jan. 16, 2019 in Los Angeles, will be held on Saturday, Jan. 26, 2019 at 10:00 a.m. at Seicho No Ie Truth of Life Center, 14527 S. Vermont Ave., Gardena.

She is survived by her daughter, Eileen Eiko Asato; granddaughters, Sherry Maki (Robb) Roetman and Milei (Keric) Morinaga; great-granddaughters, Keila and Amanda Roetman; brothers, Kyoji (Mieko) and George Hitoshi (Aiko) Hatanaka; nieces and nephews in California, Jeanette Nagai, Steve (Asami) and Mark (Maya) Hatanaka; nieces and nephews in Japan, Yasuhiro (Izuho) and Tokio (Yuka) Hatanaka, Kiyomi (Hirofumi) Hashimoto; 11 great-nieces and great-nephews in California and Japan; and many other relatives.
