Takashi “Tak” Yamashita

Takashi “Tak” Yamashita, passed away at the age of 100, 18 days prior to his 101st birthday, on Tuesday December 4, 2018 in Tucson, AZ. Takashi was born to Samo and Seikichi Yamashita on December 22, 1917 in Torrance, CA. He married Masaye “Molly” Moriuchi in Los Angeles, CA in 1947 and together, they raised five daughters and settled in Oxnard, CA. In 2014, Tak and Molly moved to Tucson, AZ to be close to family.

Takashi is survived by his five daughters and their husbands: Emi & Gordon Adolphson, Chiyo & Allen Gill, Miye & Gary Minor, Phyllis & Tim Hansen, and Irene & Bob Jellison; his grandchildren: Carrie & Andy Schreiner, Matthew & Megan Gill, Jesse Gill, Aaron & Mackey Adolphson, Bryce Adolphson, Rachel & Jake Umphlett, Garth Hansen, Tommiko Hansen, and Claire Jellison; his great-grandchildren: Audrey, Nathan, & Molly Schreiner, Carmen & Matthew Gill Jr., and Ruby & Dylan Adolphson.

Funeral Services will be held at the Oxnard Buddhist Temple on Saturday, January 19, 2019, at 12:00 pm.
