Yoshio Oshiki was born on April 11, 1918 and passed away on July 15, 2019.
He leaves two daughters Janis Nobe (Michael) and Alice Oshiki (Scott Campbell); three grandchildren Matthew Nobe (Jocelyn), Andrew Nobe, and Jennifer Freeman (Ryan); a great-granddaughter Madelyn and step-great-grandson Yuri; many nieces, nephews and relatives. He was preceded in death by his wife of 27 years, Lillian.
A member of the 442nd Regimental Combat Team in WWII, he fought in 5 campaigns in Italy and France, and participated in the Rescue of the Lost Battalion.
Born and raised in Hawthorne, he raised his family in Monterey Park, and spent his later years in Torrance and Seal Beach.
An avid sports fan, he remained healthy and active all 101 years of his life.
Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, July 24, 2019, at 1:00 p.m., at Rose Hills Memorial Park, Memorial Chapel, 3888 Workman Mill Rd, Whittier, CA 90601.
