Sam Tetsuo Kawata - Rafu Shimpo

A funeral service for Sam Tetsuo Kawata, 99-year-old, Lajunta, Colo.-born Nisei who passed away on Nov. 24, 2019 in Los Angeles, will be held on Friday, Dec. 6, 2019 at 10:00 a.m. at L.A. Holiness Church, 3660 S. Gramercy Pl., Los Angeles, with Rev. Roland Hazama from Crossway Church of SFV officiating.

He is survived by his children, Christine (Dennis) Yamamoto and Rick Kawata; grandson, Stephen (Michelle) Yamamoto; great-grandsons, Trent and Blake Yamamoto; siblings-in-law, Amy Nakano, Helen Izuki and Hoover Ushiyama; also survived by many nieces, nephews and other relatives.
