Frank Kaichiro Shoda
August 28, 1914 – October 4, 2019
Frank Kaichiro Shoda passed away on October 4, 2019, at 105. A Nisei resident of Alhambra, CA, Frank was born in Seattle, WA.
He attended the former Maryknoll Catholic School in Los Angeles where he was a self-described “rascal.”

During WWII, Frank was a talented chick sexer. He could determine the sex of 1,100 chicks an hour with 95% accuracy. At times he worked 36 hours straight.
Frank is predeceased by beloved wife, Frances Yoshiko. After her passing, he became an avid ballroom dancer. Dance kept him young as he competed and took private lessons until age 100. He enjoyed watching friends dance until his own passing.
He is predeceased by sister Kayoko Shoda Ishida; Frank’s sons David Daniel Shoda, Robert and Fred Koga; grandson Mathew; daughter-in-law Eiko.
Frank leaves brother Kayoshi Shoda; daughters-in-law Susan Koga, Masako Koga Murakami (Richard); grandchildren Michael (Kathy), Frank (Lisa), Warren, Ellen (Yuji), Kellee, Tom (Lindsay); 10 great-grandchildren, and many relatives.
