Mineko Hashimoto
May 2, 1915 – April 5, 2020

Mineko Hashimoto, beloved auntie, passed away on April 5, 2020 at the age of 104. She was born on May 2, 1915 to Masaki and Shina Yamaguchi in Watsonville, California. As a toddler, she moved to Japan with her mother and older sister, Aiko. She returned to Watsonville when she was 14 years old. She was interned at Gila River during WWII, and from camp, she and her husband moved to Oregon Slope, Oregon. Widowed in 1980, she moved to Los Angeles in 1981 to live with her sister, Aiko. Mineko was predeceased by her husband Hiroji Hashimoto, brothers Ichiro and Misaku Yamaguchi and sister Aiko Yamaguchi. She is survived by nieces Jane Kawahara, Bernice Nishikawa, Yoko Takatori, Pamela Hashimoto, Tomi Gayle Warren; nephew Dennis Okamoto; sister-in-law Yae Nagai; and many grandnieces and grandnephews.
She will be lovingly remembered and deeply missed.

A private celebration of Mineko’s life will be held at a later date. She will be laid to rest next to her husband Hiroji at Evergreen Cemetery in Ontario, Oregon. In lieu of koden, please consider a contribution to Union Church of Los Angeles or to Kei-Ai Los Angeles Healthcare.
