Tadashi “Tad” Oki
April 13, 1924 – May 6, 2020

Tadashi Oki passed away on May 6, 2020 at the age of 96 at Mission Community Hospital in Panorama City.

Tad was born on April 13, 1924 in Los Angeles to Hidejiro and Kiyoko Oki. Tad played football and basketball at Garfield High School until his senior year was interrupted by World War II. The Oki family was interned at the Heart Mountain Relocation Center in Wyoming.

He loved all sports, especially golf and bowling. His kind and generous heart served him well as a long-time coach for Hollywood Dodgers. Coupled with unlimited patience, Tad helped develop athletic abilities in his children.

In addition, Tad will always be remembered for his great sense of humor. He will be missed greatly by all who knew him or crossed paths with him.

Predeceased by his wife, Mae Hiroko of Fowler, CA, and sister Louise Uyeda, Tad is survived by his daughter, JoAnn Oki; sons, David (Joyce) and Dennis of Reno, NV; granddaughter, Melissa (Arnold) Charmaraman, great-grandson Ethan Kyle Tadashi Charmaraman; brothers Tom (Susie) and Tak (Beverly); and many nieces and nephews.

There will be no services at this time. Plans for a memorial/celebration of life will be held at a later date once the danger from coronavirus has past.
