Kazuko Yano Ward
May 29, 1929 – July 16, 2020

Kazuko Ward passed away peacefully in her sleep on July 16th, 2020 at Sakura Gardens in Los Angeles, CA.

She was born in Shanghai, China and returned to Tokyo, Japan for her education. After WW II she met and married her husband, Robert Ward and shortly after moved to the United States. Later, she settled in Southern California in 2006 to be close to her daughter, Mari Fujii.

She enjoyed the symphony, ballet, line dancing, and playing Mahjong with her friends. She also enjoyed being involved in her grandchildren’s activities.

Kazuko was preceded in death by her husband, Robert J. Ward. She is survived by her daughter and son-in-law, Mari and Ford Fujii of Irvine; grandchildren, Kalena and Kam Fujii; nieces, Yoko and Tomoko Ikeda of Tokyo, Japan.

Due to current concerns, interment ceremonies at Arlington Cemetery will be held privately at a later date next year.
