Steven Joseph Linn
April 24th 1950 – July 2nd 2020
In loving memory of Steven Joseph Linn, who passed away on July 2, 2020 at his vacation home in Virginia Lakes, Calif.
Steven was born on April 24, 1950 to Nisei Alice Emiko (Kawamura) Linn and Glenn Joseph Linn. He was the oldest of 3 children, followed by Robert, and then Naomi.
He grew up in Monterey Park. In high school, he was on the varsity water polo team. In Boy Scouts, he attained Eagle Scout. Family vacations were filled with camping and fishing. Most summers he was sent to work on the Kawamura family farm, which instilled a strong work ethic that he carried with him his entire life.
Steven was enamored with the stock market. He spent countless hours studying and learning everything he could. He was on his computer daily creating charts and following the ups and downs.
Steven and Kathleen met while working at the headquarters of Safeway stores; they married in November 1977. The adventures they shared together were skiing throughout the country and Canada. They golfed as many golf courses as possible in Southern California. Steven sailed a 50-foot sailboat in the British Virgin Islands. The countries they traveled to included Monte Carlo, Italy, France, and Germany to see the Black Forest. He was an avid fisherman and was at his happiest while fishing with nieces and nephews at Virginia Lakes. He was the patriarch and a mentor; he lived his life that showed family comes first.
Steven is survived by his beloved wife Kathleen and large extended family.
He was preceded in death by Glenn J. Linn and Alice E Linn his parents and Robert J. Linn his brother. Private services will be held Aug. 1, 2020 in the home of a family member.
