Rosie Kazuko Takagi

Rosie Kazuko Takagi, age 97, of Los Angeles, passed away July 29, 2020, after a brief illness. Rosie was born January 19, 1923, in Imperial, CA; her parents were the late Tsuneshichi and Konami Kakiuchi. Rosie married George Tsuyoshi Takagi in Los Angeles on September 25, 1949, and is survived by her son Max (Nomel Conley) of El Segundo, CA and daughter Dr. Margaret (Longden) Loo of Ventura, CA. She was blessed with five grandchildren: Tristan (Camila) Loo, Kelsy Loo, Dr. Dyani Loo, Taylr (Dr. Michael) Jesinger, and Beau Takagi. She is survived by one sister: Lilly Torigoe of Manteca, CA.
Growing up in a farming family, she developed a lifetime love of plants and gardening and spent much time in her garden growing fruits and vegetables, passing along her love to her family. During WWII, her father Tsuneshichi and the entire family were forced to be relocated to Poston War Internment Camp in Poston, Arizona, under the Executive Order 9066 where they lived for the duration of the war. After the war, they were lucky to return to their home in the Imperial Valley whereupon they resumed their farming. Rosie excelled in her studies, graduating Magna Cum Laude from Cal State Los Angeles with her masters in accounting and became a CPA with the Los Angeles School District, retiring in 1998 after 31 years. She is buried at Angelus Rosedale Cemetery in Los Angeles among members of the Takagi family, under direction of the Fukui Mortuary of Los Angeles. She encouraged her children and grandchildren to work hard and excel in their studies and their occupations. She studied and enjoyed ikebana, jewelry making, sewing, knitting, and traveling. She will be missed.
