Kerry Y. Takahara
Kerry Y. Takahara, 70, Pahala, Hawaii-born resident of Los Angeles, passed away on December 14. Family viewing was held privately on December 28th.
He is survived by his wife, Faith Puanani; daughters Karlyn Ayame, Kristen Kapiolani and Kamarin Hokulani Takahara; grand-dog GG; brother, Eldon (Susan) Takahara of Nevada; sisters, Sandy (Gene) Hiraki and Kim Ebanez both of Hawaii; many nieces and nephews.
Kerry moved to Los Angeles from Pahala, Hawaii at the age of 18 in 1968. A country boy at heart, moving to the Mainland was a new adventure. In 1979, he started working in the Transportation Department at CBS Television City as a truck driver. Kerry retired from CBS Television City in 2018 as Head of Transportation after 39 years of service. Since his retirement, he spent every day with his wife and even became a grandpawrent to a rescue pup named GG. She was his best bud and he was hers.
He enjoyed playing golf and loved music. He especially loved playing the ukulele and singing songs (real and made up). But most of all he loved to serenade his girls. He was the best cook too. He created many delicious dishes but for the life of him could never re-create no matter how hard he tried. He was also the best joke and story-teller; especially stories of his childhood. But his number one interest was taking care of his family and loving his wife and daughters endlessly and wholeheartedly. A Life Well Lived.
