Elsie Higa - Rafu Shimpo

Mrs. Elsie Higa, 93-year-old, Torrance, Calif.-born Nisei and resident of Monterey Park, passed away on Dec. 22, 2020 at Garfield Hospital after suffering a broken hip. Unfortunately, she contracted COVID in the hospital and was not able to recover from her injury.

Predeceased by her husband Miyoshi Higa, she is survived by her children: Eric (Sandy), Guy, Corrine; and grandchildren: Erica, Andrew and Dylan Higa. She is also survived by many nieces, nephews and other relatives.

Due to COVID restrictions, a private family service will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers or koden, the family requests you keep “Maka’s” warm smile and laughter in your memory.
