Vernon T Matsuura
May 13, 1937 – January 25, 2021
Vernon T Matsuura passed away peacefully on January 25, 2021, surrounded by his family. After working many years in the aerospace industry, he enjoyed a long retirement with trips to Las Vegas, fishing in the mountains, and getting together with family and friends for good food and fine wine.
He is survived by his loving wife of 57 years, Carol Mikami Matsuura; daughter, Julie (Mary) Artino Matsuura; son, Jason Matsuura (Edel); grandsons, R.J. Hernandez and John Hernandez; brothers, Mel Matsuura (Haru) and Gene Matsuura (Jean); brother-in-law, Richard Mikami (Ann); and sisters-in-law Meiko Inaba, Lynn Mikami, and Shirley Mikami. He is also survived by a loving extended family and many friends.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to a local food bank or the Hoag Hospital Foundation-Family Cancer Institute. A memorial service will be planned at a later date.
