Donald Tatsuo Hasuike
July 13, 1929 — January 12, 2021

Donald Tatsuo Hasuike, 91-year-old, resident of Monterey Park, Calif., passed away on January 12, 2021, at Huntington Memorial Hospital after a brief illness.

Donald was born in Burbank, California, on July 13, 1929 to George Susumu Hasuike, one of Southern California’s leading produce operators, and his wife May.

Donald served in the Air Force during the Korean War and received his accounting degree from USC. He opened up a chain of coin-operated laundromats, at one time owning and operating as many as 15 locations. During his free time he enjoyed golf, karaoke, and spending time with his family.

He is survived by his wife Hiroko; children Keith (Lia) Hasuike, Julie Hasuike (Kyle Miyatake), April Yamashiro and Neil Hasuike; six grandchildren, Kennedy Hasuike, Trent Hasuike, Shaye Hasuike, Hunter Yamashiro, Matthew Yamashiro, Kelsey Yamashiro, and many nephews, nieces and other relatives. He is preceded in death by his sisters, Sumiye Burke and Reiko Narike.

A private viewing was held at Fukui Mortuary. A memorial service is planned for a later date.
