Ruth Tomiko Takata
Ruth Tomiko Takata was born on July 22, 1926, in Kitsuki, Oita, Japan, the daughter of Yososhichiro and Shizue Sato.
In 1957, Tomiko Sato married Masao Takata in Japan then moved to Los Angeles. They were married for 38 years before he passed in 1995.
She settled in Los Angeles and became a naturalized U.S. citizen on May 14, 1969. She worked very diligently to raise her children by working in the Beverly Hills Unified School District in support services during the 1970s and 1980s. She also enjoyed her time cooking and gardening.
Ruth cherished her family. She raised one son, Kenneth, and three daughters, Katherine, Irene, and Lily. Ruth had three sons-in-law, Barney, John, and David. She had eight grandchildren, Danielle, Amanda, Nicole, Jennifer, Jonathan, Jamie, Judy, and James. Her only great-grandchild, Charli, survives her.
She also leaves behind her sister-in-law, Sachiko, her nephew, Toshiro, and his wife, Chieko, her nephew, Shuichiro, his wife, Yuko, and their son, Hoshito.
Ruth was our beloved matriarch who was very kind and generous to all she met, a true example of a Godly woman who put her faith first in all she did. We will miss her dearly.
