Toshiko Sakamoto
Beloved matriarch of the Sakamoto family, Toshiko Sakamoto (90), born in Seoul, Korea, on July 19, 1930, passed away at her skilled nursing home in Whittier, Calif., on April 20, 2021. Mrs. Sakamoto was the daughter of Keigo Tsuji, the former mayor of Seoul during the Japanese occupation. Toshiko worked for New Japan Securities (Shin Nihon Shoken) in Los Angeles for her entire career. Her final resting place will be next to her husband, Shigeru Sakamoto, at Forest Lawn in Hollywood Hills, Calif.
She is survived by her daughter Yuko Sakamoto; son-in-law Vic Jacobs; grandson Stoney Sakamoto; and family in Japan. She will be remembered for her resilient fighting spirit and love for her family.
