SAN BERNARDINO — Karate Olympian Sakura Kokumai will appear at CSU San Bernardino on Wednesday, Feb. 14.

Japanese cultural and informational booths will be open from 11 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. Explore Japanese culture through booths showcasting calligraphy, origami and more. Learn about Japanese minor and certificate programs, scholarships and study abroad opportunities.
Free admission; open to all students and the general public.
Kokumai, a karate world gold medalist who achieved fourth place at the Tokyo Olympics as a member of 2020 Team USA, will speak at Santos Manuel Student Union, North Conference Center, from 1 to 2:30 p.m. Her topic: “Beyond the Mat.”
Experience her karate demo, engage in an interactive session, and capture exclusive memories in a photo session. Kokumai will share her mission of introducing karate to American communities and discuss her training journey as an Asian American woman in the sport.
