Donald Shigeo Tanamachi, 85, of El Cerrito, Calif., passed away peacefully on March 7, 2024. Don was born in Los Angeles and grew up in Long Beach. He graduated from Cal Poly Pomona with a bachelor’s in landscape architecture. After moving to the Bay Area, Don worked at Lawrence Livermore National Laboratory as a site planner. He was an avid fisherman and also enjoyed bowling, playing softball, and coaching his sons’ baseball and basketball teams.

Don was preceded in death by his brother Cary. He is survived by his wife, Jane; sons, Michael (Kaori), Kyle (Angela), and Steven; grandchildren, Remy and Devin; brother Glenn (Kathi); sister, Linda (Ken) Kishiyama; sister-in-law Linda Tanamachi; and several nieces and nephews.
