Fusae Litchfield, 91, gracefully passed away with her two cherished children by her side on January 19 of this year. She departed peacefully, swiftly, and with the dignity that characterized her remarkable life. Fusae, a longtime resident of Moreno Valley, leaves behind a legacy of love, strength, and unwavering determination.

Born and raised in Nagoya, Japan, Fusae, also known as Yoko, embarked on a journey that spanned continents and cultures. After the birth of her children, Junko Newman and Richard Litchfield, in Tokyo, she bravely followed her husband, Wendell Litchfield, to Los Angeles, and later to Moreno Valley and Nebraska. Despite the challenges of navigating unfamiliar territories, Fusae embraced each new chapter with resilience and grace, ensuring that her family thrived wherever they were.

Fusae’s devotion to her children and her faith was unparalleled. Following the untimely passing of her beloved husband in 1974, she became both mother and father to Junko and Richard, guiding them with wisdom, love, and unwavering support. Though small in stature, Fusae possessed a strength of will that was truly remarkable. Smart, confident, and at times outspoken, she faced every obstacle with integrity and determination, never wavering in her commitment to provide her children with a bright future.

Throughout her life, Fusae’s love for her children remained the guiding force behind everything she did. Despite the trials she faced, she approached each day with a quiet resolve and an indomitable spirit. Her legacy of love, resilience, and unwavering devotion will continue to inspire all who had the privilege of knowing her.

In addition to her children, Fusae leaves behind a cherished “mago,” Henry, as well as a host of friends and loved ones whose lives she touched with her kindness, generosity, and unwavering faith.

As we bid farewell to Fusae, let us take comfort in the knowledge that she is now reunited with her beloved husband and departed family members in a place of eternal peace and love. Though she may no longer walk among us, her spirit will live on in the hearts of all who were blessed to know her. May Fusae rest in eternal peace, surrounded by the love of those who have gone before her, and may her memory continue to be a source of comfort and inspiration to us all.
