Japanese Movie Night will be presented on Sunday, July 21, at 2:30 p.m. at Faith United Methodist Church, 2115 W. 182nd St. (at Van Ness), Torrance.
This month’s film is “Throne of Blood” (1957), directed by Akira Kurosawa and starring Toshiro Mifune, Minoru Chiaki and Isuzu Yamada. In this adaptation of Shakespeare’s “Macbeth,” a warrior assassinates his sovereign at the urging of his ambitious wife. Japanese title: “Kumonosu-jō” (Spider-Web Castle).
Free admission and popcorn. There will be a short reflection after the movie.
