Cold Tofu will present “Maryknoll Heights” on Sunday, Sept. 29, at 7:30 p.m. at Outside in ArtBox, 5319 York Blvd., Los Angeles.
Cold Tofu, the nation’s first Asian American improv and sketch comedy group, will revisit a format it hasn’t done in years with this improvised soap opera named in honor of St. Francis Xavier Japanese Catholic Center (Maryknoll), which has hosted many of the group’s workshops and shows.
In addition to celebrating the publication of its book, “Cold Tofu, the Early Years 1981-1998,” the group has recently performed at East West Players’ “Crazy Talented Asians,” the Japanese American National Museum’s Natsumatsuri Family Festival, and other community events.
Doors open at 7:15 p.m. Tickets: $10-$20. Order here: https://outsideintheatre.org/tickets/
